Project overview
Xoom MD is a web scheduling and booking system for hospitals and medical systems across the US. The XoomMD team wanted a new design for their website and on-premise software that they have currently implemented. They requested us for the redesign of the new scheduler that will be used as an on-premise and a website booking management system. Since the XoomMD interface will be used by the patients directly, they wanted a seamless and easy to understand interface for the same.

Since XoomMD didn’t have any previous software for the job, they wanted a fresh design for the software from scratch. We interviewed a few patients, medical specialists, and analyzed the reasons they will be using the software mostly.
Product Market Fit
To create the overall design for the software, we conducted a few interviews of the patients asking them how they book appointments on the XoomMD website right now and what would be a better option available.

We kept the theme design almost the same for Xoom MD. Users that were not already signed up for treatment could do so by creating a new account with XoomMD. However, those that already had an account, can easily sign in.
XoomMD dashboard can be assessed directly through the website or downloaded as on-premise software. We have designed the dashboard so that users who are interacting with it the first time, can easily manage it.
The scheduling dashboard has an appointment calendar on the front screen. Patient bookings are shown in a single tab on the dashboard that medical specialists can interact with.
They have the option to approve, open, close, and delete the patient bookings.
They can also schedule appointments directly from the dashboard.
All appointments are available for the medical specialists that they can check by going to Dashboard > Appointments.
When a patient/user books an appointment, it automatically appears on the calendar. All information of the patient is also filled by the doctor within the profile. So, if the patients want a summary of their interactions with the doctor/tests/and disease treatment, they can directly get that from the document library.
Similarly, users can check health profiles of doctors that they want to book an appointment with. XoomMD also allows users to directly book a video call with doctors or to email them. So, these options are also added within the XoomMD software.
Each doctor’s profile is simple and easily accessible to the users using the XoomMD system.
The wireframes were designed for the dashboard, user and doctor profile pages, user library pages, and FAQs pages. The overall design template was finalized and sent to the client for approval.
Result: Better UI/UX & Software Understanding
As a result of the wireframes we created, the overall design of the software looks a lot more attractive. Users coming to book emergency appointments with XoomMD can easily do that. They can also get in touch with doctors, check their previous history, overall patient ratings and reviews, and make an aware decision. Xoom MD also offers the patients to contact the doctors or get on a call with them. Since the Xoom MD software can be used from hospital or from home, we have made the software easier for everyone with no background in software usage.
